Our privacy commitment
Privacy by design
AI Budtender is built to collect as little personal data as possible. There are no consumer accounts, and we do not require you to log in to browse, compare, or use the AI budtender. We never sell your data.
AI Budtender is operated from Basel, Switzerland. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights. It is written to align with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).
What we collect
Newsletter subscribers (optional)
- • Email address
- • Preferences you choose to share (e.g. effects, region)
Purpose: to send product and price updates you asked for.
Retention: until you unsubscribe.
Aggregated analytics (consent-based)
- • Page views and popular products (counted, not tied to you)
- • General, anonymised traffic patterns
Purpose: to understand usage and improve the service.
Note: analytics load only after you opt in via the cookie banner, with IP anonymisation.
The AI budtender
When you chat with the AI budtender, your message is sent to our server and an AI provider only to generate a reply. We do not require login, we do not store your messages against your identity, and we do not keep your IP address. Requests may be rate-limited using a short-lived, irreversible (hashed) token to prevent abuse, and anonymised prompts may be cached to keep the service fast and affordable. The budtender gives general information only — it is not medical, legal, or professional advice.
What we do NOT collect
- ✗Consumer accounts, names, or profiles
- ✗Your AI budtender conversations linked to you
- ✗Your IP address or device fingerprints
- ✗Payment details — we never process purchases
- ✗Advertising or cross-site tracking data
When you click through to a partner shop, your activity there is governed by that shop's own privacy policy, not ours.
Cookies & analytics
We use strictly necessary cookies (such as your age confirmation and cookie choice) that cannot be disabled, and — only with your consent — anonymous analytics. Age confirmation is remembered on this device for 30 days, and — when you’re signed in with your CannabisOS Pass — across the whole network. We do not use advertising pixels or cross-site trackers. Your rights
Under the GDPR and Swiss FADP you have the right to:
- • Access the personal data we hold about you
- • Correct inaccurate data
- • Delete your data (right to be forgotten)
- • Export your data in a portable format
- • Withdraw consent for analytics or newsletters at any time
